July 2...I apologies to my Rockport Show patrons, I have decided not to do the show this year due to my Mom's recent death.  Judy & I are welcoming her extended family home this weekend & with my two sisters hosting Mom's Celebration of Life Monday July 6th. For any who went to the show specifically for the bells please send me an email or call & I'll ship your order mid next week.

Mom died peacefully in Methodist Hospital after receiving her 2nd round of chemo in the attempt to buy more time from the ravages of acute myeloid leukemia which had greatly diminished her production of healthy blood cells.  On the advise of her fine Drs she had lived decently on transfusions since Jan '09 but their benefit began to wane in May thus her & the Dr's try at a mild chemo hoping for some benefit.  While she hung on the last couple of weeks it was evident her only enjoyment in life was our presence & without major benefit of the chemo her future was going to be much worse than anyone wished.  Her very quick passing was fortunate for all.  Mom's obituary    http://www.boernestar.com/articles/2009/07/03/obituaries/doc4a4cd082b8b25144204395.txt

The extended Dewey family thanks everyone for their kind thoughts, best wishes & prayers.

My knowledge of metallurgy and harmonics allows me to forge windchimes which produce a carillon of sounds. Each bell produces three tuned notes: the larger the chime the deeper the pitches and richer the tones. A truly unique feature of my chimes is their property of actually improving both visually and acoustically with age. Natural weathering of the metals adds softness to the chime's tones plus enhancing the colors and textures of the bells. I use stainless steel, copper and silver for the working parts to insure the chime's long life and your pleasure.

I offer five sizes of chimes for your selection:

In order to listen to a sound-byte of the bell you are interested in, click on the musical note by the description!

Now in .mp3 format for faster downloading!

note.gif (898 bytes) The 2 dot chime (11.5") has three voices ranging from mid to high pitch. It's tone is soft and clear. Compliments the 4 dot chime best. Price is $52 plus $1.50 for handling.

note.gif (906 bytes) The 3 dot chime's (13") pitches are in the mid range and rich. This is my favorite. Price is $68 plus $1.75 for handling.

note.gif (906 bytes) The 4 dot chime (15") is my wife's favorite. It gives you three mid to deep sounds and is even richer yet. Compliments the 2 dot chime best. Price is $84 plus $2.00 for handling.

note.gif (906 bytes) The 5 dot chime (19") has very deep, rich and mellow tones. The sound of this chime is comparable to three large church bells. Price is $116 plus $5.00 for handling.

note.gif (906 bytes) The 6 dot chime (24") has even richer and mellower tones. The sound of this chime is warm and soothing to the ear. Price is $170 plus $7.00 for handling.

I offer these incentives and services for your consideration:

What's new 2008 has been a hectic year; a dozen shows, daily shop orders, family, friends, home & play... my life is over full & mostly happy.  Both daughters & sons-in-law have new babies as per photos below.  Jenny, Michael, Will & Lincoln in Houston until Spring '09 when they will either move back to DC or overseas.  The last month has had them evacuating to Boerne twice running from hurricanes.  Michael is a Diplomatic Security Agent with the State Dept, has protected Rice, the Dali Lama as well as many other international leaders.  Jenny has her hands full raising Will & Lincoln.  Carla & Dave moved back to TX last Spring.  He's an elite & personal running coach in San Antonio, has many prepping for the SAT, HOU & Boston marathons.  Carla is a Sp Ed teacher & behavioral specialist in Boerne.  We're fortunate that they & Julien visit our home many times a week.   My 88 yr old mom bounces back & forth from home to hospital to nursing/rehab facility while she struggles with the complications of a weakening heart.  Luckily for everyone, she's still sharp as a tack & our conversations are humorous, interesting & sometimes very enlightening.  After Judy's retirement in '05, she returned part-time as the Dir of the BISD Alternative Campus.  She has also co-authored two behavioral reference guides for those in education.  The first one was for classroom teachers and the second is for bus drivers. You can find them at:  http://www.dayonepublishing.com/Educational/Behavioral_Disorders/Index.html

Between shows, working daily in the shop & visiting my mom, visiting the girls & an occasional trip to the lake to enjoy & maintain our boat BON DIA, we remain very busy but always welcome your calls & emails.  Our goal is to make the very best windbells of our unique design & market them as responsibly as possible while maintaining an enjoyable balance in our lives.  When you do call, if you get the answering machine please leave your number & I'll call you back ASAP.....thanks, Philip & Judy

Jenny, Michael & Will had another boy!

...that make two for them & three grandsons for us, all within two yrs of age.
Lincoln Paul born ~ noon on May 16, 2008, 10lb, 22"  Lincoln just cause they like it & Paul for Michael's maternal grandfather.  Everyone is doing well, Linc's eating & sleeping well, Mom's recovering, Dad's running at 95% 24 hrs a day & two yr old Will appears happy with his younger brother.

Judy & I with Lincoln

Apr 9...

Carla & Dave had a boy!
8lb 6oz, huge hands and feet ~noon GA time. 15 hrs of labor, the last 3 naturally the hardest. Judy was in attendance & reported both CK and Dave did very well. Named Julien Robert after Dave's grandfather. For you who are friends of Hazel Dewey, JR is her 2nd great grandson. For us it's our 2nd grandchild with the 3rd due in late May.

Apr 2...She takes a licking & keeps on ticking....while three weeks in the hospital cardiac unit didn't kill my Mom, falling off a stationary bike in rehab might.  While it was touch & go for about a week her current prognosis is good & she's working hard to regain the independent life she enjoyed her first 87 yrs.  Plus she has two great grandbabies due this Spring & a granddaughter getting married in Dec.  She's in a local facility thus we get to visit daily, usually late afternoon to watch & discuss the news & catch up on her day.  Her PT & OT stories are funny & she's questions why she has to do things like attach & remover clothes pins from a line...tells the OT she has a dryer at home & she never had a bike & doesn't plan on buying one now so why learn to ride one at 87.  While her convalescents will keep me away from the shop a bit, it shouldn't affect my bell business.

Now to the most positive news...Carla (in GA) is due with Mugo ~ April 10.  Judy is there now with Dave & I'm on standby.  I have a show in the Woodlands mid April & if no baby before then I'll do the show & rush over later.  Six weeks after Carla delivers Jenny (in HOU) is due with her 2nd.  Will will have a sibling & Judy & I will have three grandbabies.
